Category Archives: Broodmares

We are really proud of our stallions but it takes great broodmares to have a strong breeding program. We carefully select the mares that stay in our pastures and we are fond of each of these. Enjoy them and their stories and look for thier offspring as future champions in the arena and hard workers on ranches as well as great companions.

Joan

Joan

2012 sorrel AQHA mare, AMR Easy Jones Jet. We had great expectations for Joan. She is bred in the purple and we even thought maybe she could be good enough to send to the track with a friend of ours. She was windswept when she was born but she quickly grew out of that. She… Continue Reading

Bonnet

Bonnet

2009 AQHA black mare, Chips Black Bonnet. Bonnet is a really big, really sweet mare. A friend of ours brought her to us and said we needed to own her because she would fit our program and we agreed. She has a lot of bone and is still pretty and feminine. We bred her to… Continue Reading

Cinco

Cinco

2007 AQHA palomino mare, PR Ms Pepdo Leo. Cinco wasn’t really a planned purchase to our program but once we saw her we couldn’t resist. We decided to go to a friend’s registered red Angus sale and came home with the buy of the sale.  She comes from a line of mares that are strong… Continue Reading

Dyna

Dyna

2006 AQHA sorrel mare, QCS Dynamite. We just loved the way this mare was bred so when her owner offered her in trade for one of our fillies we jumped on the opportunity. Her previous owner told us that all of her babies were the first to be sold in each colt crop from her… Continue Reading

Sarrah

Sarrah

2004 AQHA black mare, Tillman Sarrah. Sarrah is a really cute black mare out of our stud Bear. Ali just fell in love with this mare the first time she saw her and was tickled pink when Mike brought her home from our stud’s previous owner. We wanted to have some foals on site for… Continue Reading

Goose

Goose

2004 AQHA blue roan mare, Tillman Fancie Beau. Goose is a striking gruillo roan mare out of our nice foundation stud Bear. We bought her from the man who sold us Bear so we could have an example of his get on our ranch for potential customers to view when deciding to breed their fine… Continue Reading

Bee

Bee

2003 AQHA gray mare, Tillmans Rojo Jackie. Bee was a little thin when we brought her home after buying her and it took us a long time to get her back to the right condition but she has matured and filled out and we are delighted to have her in our broodmare band. She looks… Continue Reading

Enga

Enga

2002 AQHA palomino mare, Cougarand Freckles. Enga is a fun story. Sometimes things just fall into place and Enga sort of ended up that way for us. When we moved to Kansas we had a person come check our house to make sure it was termite free which thankfully it was. We got to talking… Continue Reading

Waco

Waco

2001 AQHA red roan mare, Tillmans Plain Jane. Mike bought Waco from a friend when he noticed her in his pasture. She has a nice big hip and a pretty little head.   She is bred to work and play hard and take you to the pay window when you want to compete.   Mike… Continue Reading

Pocahontas

Pocahontas

2001 AQHA blue roan mare, Tillmans Pocahontas. Pocahontas is registered as blue roan mare but she is even better than that, she is a gruillo with a strong roan factor.  Her dam is also a really nice producer who belongs to a friend of ours and we were delighted to bring home this mare who… Continue Reading

Que

Que

2001 AQHA black mare, Cue the Jet. Que’s story is kind of funny. A friend of Ali’s bought some race bred mares and asked Ali to breed her stud Cricket to them and they would split the money when the babies were sold. Ali agreed but unfortunately, due to financial hardship, Ali’s friend had to… Continue Reading

Bethel

Bethel

2001 AQHA bay mare, AMR Jets Over Bethel. Bethel is out of our nice broodmare Bailey and Ali’s old stud Cricket. Bethel has been striking since day one. She seemed to dance on her spindly new legs as a newborn. She tried to work the cattle in the pasture with her when she was young… Continue Reading

Bailey

Bailey

1997 AQHA palomino mare, Firastar. Ali owned Bailey’s full sister who died of a burst uterine artery delivering her first foal. She had been such a nice horse that Ali went back to her breeder and asked for a full sister. Bailey was available and Ali brought her home as a pale, skinny, unbroken, gangly,… Continue Reading

April

April

1996 AQHA and NFQR palomino mare, April Poco Bob. April is double registered both in the AQHA and also in the Foundation Quarter Horse Registry. There just aren’t many horses around with Poco Bueno on their papers. We fell in love with her just as soon as we saw her and the deal was clinched… Continue Reading
