Category Archives: Broodmares

We are really proud of our stallions but it takes great broodmares to have a strong breeding program. We carefully select the mares that stay in our pastures and we are fond of each of these. Enjoy them and their stories and look for thier offspring as future champions in the arena and hard workers on ranches as well as great companions.

Stormi

Stormi

We bought Stormi at the “Come to the Source Sale” in 2014 to breed to Bear. When we lost Bear we thought that we would make a calf horse out of her but just ran out of time to train her with so many in the pipeline. She is good minded, friendly  and easy to… Continue Reading

Waco

Waco

Mike bought Waco from a friend when he noticed her in his pasture. She has a nice big hip and a pretty little head.   She is bred to work and play hard and take you to the pay window when you want to compete.   Mike started to break her to ride and noticed… Continue Reading

Cinco

Cinco

Cinco wasn’t really a planned purchase to our program but once we saw her we couldn’t resist. We decided to go to a friend’s registered red Angus sale and came home with the buy of the sale.  She comes from a line of mares that are strong performance producers. This filly fits perfectly into our… Continue Reading

Joan

Joan

2012 sorrel AQHA mare, AMR Easy Jones Jet. We had great expectations for Joan. She is bred in the purple and we even thought maybe she could be good enough to send to the track with a friend of ours. She was windswept when she was born but she quickly grew out of that. She… Continue Reading

CeeDee

CeeDee

2012 AQHA gray mare, Cowboys Playin A 220. Mike and Ali have to admit that we have a weakness for production sales. We like to find diamonds in the rough and see what they become. This pretty filly is living up to our hopes really well. We got her as a broodmare prospect and still… Continue Reading

Rosie

Rosie

2011 AQHA red dun roan mare, AMR Destiny is Rosie. Rosie has been a real looker from day one and that has never changed. We have been really tempted to keep her as a broodmare but we can’t keep them all and this one deserves a performance career. We still have her younger sister so… Continue Reading

Kay

Kay

2011 AQHA black mare, AMR Que Mala Suerte. Kay is a pretty black mare out of our great mare Que and our wonderful stud Bear. This is a great cross that makes super athletic babies. Kay is no exception. She got her name because he momma decided to drop her onto a barbed wire fence… Continue Reading

Dos

Dos

2010 AQHA buckskin mare, AMR Dos Poca Buena. Dos is another great filly out of April and Bear.  She looks exactly like her full sister Una and we always thought about putting these two matched mares together as a team. We even got a third filly to match this set in their younger sister Tres. They… Continue Reading

Sugar

Sugar

2007 AQHA sorrel mare, Sugar Yubasan. Sugar is a great mare that we picked up at the Pitzer Spring Sale when she was still pretty young.  Mike just could not resist as she is really cute.  She is well bred, well built and has a great disposition.  She is intelligent and observant and has no… Continue Reading

Grace

Grace

2007 AQHA palomino mare, AMR Grace of Kings. Grace is our second foal out of  Bailey and  Bear. We liked the first one a lot and he found a great home in Texas where they named him  Sade. We liked him so much that we were eager to see what  Bailey would have next.    When this gorgeous… Continue Reading

Sarrah

Sarrah

2004 AQHA black mare, Tillman Sarrah. Sarrah is a really cute black mare out of our stud Bear. Ali just fell in love with this mare the first time she saw her and was tickled pink when Mike brought her home from our stud’s previous owner. We wanted to have some foals on site for… Continue Reading

Goose

Goose

2004 AQHA blue roan mare, Tillman Fancie Beau. Goose is a striking gruillo roan mare out of our nice foundation stud Bear. We bought her from the man who sold us Bear so we could have an example of his get on our ranch for potential customers to view when deciding to breed their fine… Continue Reading

Enga

Enga

2002 AQHA palomino mare, Cougarand Freckles. Enga is a fun story. Sometimes things just fall into place and Enga sort of ended up that way for us. When we moved to Kansas we had a person come check our house to make sure it was termite free which thankfully it was. We got to talking… Continue Reading

Pocahontas

Pocahontas

2001 AQHA blue roan mare, Tillmans Pocahontas. Pocahontas is registered as blue roan mare but she is even better than that, she is a gruillo with a strong roan factor.  Her dam is also a really nice producer who belongs to a friend of ours and we were delighted to bring home this mare who… Continue Reading

Que

Que

2001 AQHA black mare, Cue the Jet. Que’s story is kind of funny. A friend of Ali’s bought some race bred mares and asked Ali to breed her stud Cricket to them and they would split the money when the babies were sold. Ali agreed but unfortunately, due to financial hardship, Ali’s friend had to… Continue Reading

Bethel

Bethel

2001 AQHA bay mare, AMR Jets Over Bethel. Bethel is out of our nice broodmare Bailey and Ali’s old stud Cricket. Bethel has been striking since day one. She seemed to dance on her spindly new legs as a newborn. She tried to work the cattle in the pasture with her when she was young… Continue Reading
